Princess Diana would have been ‘deeply sad’ as Harry and William’s bitter feud reaches new low

Royal Commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has claimed the late Princess Diana would be “deeply sad” about the ongoing feud between Princes Harry and William, as the rift between the royal brothers reached a new development.

As the Prince of Wales attended the Diana Legacy Awards at the Science Museum in London last week, he made a swift exit from the venue before his brother’s video message from California was played to the attendees.

Making a speech at the awards, William marked the charity’s 25th anniversary and paid tribute to his late mother’s “courage, compassion and commitment”.

The prince said: “That legacy is something that both Catherine and I have sought to focus on through our work, as have the 50,000 young people who have received a Diana Award over the past 25 years.”

Prince Harry also made a speech at the event, which was a video played to the recipients of the award, after his brother had left.

The Duke of Sussex apologised to the winners for not being there in person and thanked the group for “inspiring so many others” and “protecting my mother’s legacy”.

Discussing the clear separation of the princes at their mother’s awards show, Richard Fitzwilliams told GBN America that she would be “deeply sad” to see the rift between Harry and William continue, as “any mother would be”.

Fitzwilliams added that the feud between them is “one of the few things in this wild and whirling world of speculation we can be certain of”, following Princess Kate’s photo controversy.

Fitzwilliams also praised the Prince of Wales for his “touching speech” at the event.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Host Mark Dolan then asked Fitzwilliams for his view on the Princess of Wales’s photo scandal, and how he believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may react.

Fitzwilliams said the Sussexes specifically made their latest announcements to “underline the fact that they are still here”, as the global attention towards Princess Kate continues.

He explained: “Meghan is behind the new Tig 2 you could call it, the successor to her early blog. She’s gone on Instagram with American Riviera Orchard, and she is entering the food and wellness arena.

“This may apparently be linked to a project on Netflix, where we actually see her cooking or some such. There may be a spin off book or something similar”.

Discussing the impact of the timings of Meghan’s announcement on the royal feuds, Fitzwilliams claimed the rift in the Royal Family is as “wide as ever”.

He told Mark: “Netflix is certainly their big contract. In 2021, the Sussexes were among the top 100 people in the world of Time. Now, there certainly wouldn’t be in Time’s current list, because they haven’t done very much.

“But there’s now a source that said that had they been the ones at the centre of the photoshopping scandal, they’d have been annihilated. So I think it could certainly be said they have taken steps to ensure that we know they’re still in the business.”
