Princess Beatrice is “torn” over her loyalty to Prince Andrew and King Charles amid their ongoing feud over Royal Lodge, according to a commentator.

A former BBC correspondent suggested the Princess of York is in a perfect position to act as a mediator between the brothers, as she is a trusted member of the Royal Family and remains close with her father.

Jennie Bond said: “You have to feel for Beatrice.

“She must be so torn between loyalty to the Crown and loyalty to her father.

It comes after King Charles tried to evict the Duke of York from Royal Lodge by cutting his £1million-a-year allowance, with Andrew, the father of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, refusing to downsize.

She added: “She could be an effective mediator, if one is needed.

“What we don’t know is quite how things actually stand between Charles and Andrew.

“Thus far, despite the obvious tensions over Royal Lodge, the brothers have shared family time together at Windsor and Sandringham.”

Princess Eugenie has emerged as an unofficial cultural ambassador in the Middle East, making multiple high-profile visits to the region with her sister Eugenie in recent months.

The Duke of York has relied on funding from the King since he stepped down from royal duties after his infamous Newsnight interview in 2019.

However, he has found alternative finance that comes from a legitimate source, as confirmed by the keeper of the privy purse.

Bond continued to tell OK!: “It will be interesting to see if he and Sarah are included in the Christmas gathering this year. If they are absent, it will tell us much about the state of their relationship.”

“Perhaps Beatrice can persuade her dad that Frogmore Cottage is really rather lovely, and his life could be a whole lot easier if he moved there.”

King Charles tried to force Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, to downsize to Frogmore Cottage, which had previously been given to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as their wedding present.

It comes as Princess Beatrice has emerged as an unofficial cultural ambassador in the Middle East, making multiple high-profile visits to the region with her sister Eugenie in recent months.

Beatrice, 36, has attended two significant conferences in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi within the past month.

Her sister Princess Eugenie, 34, has been engaging with Qatar’s cultural scene, particularly in the arts sector.
