Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi attended a party hosted by Maria Sharapova as they continue to snub Wimbledon.

Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter, 35, joined her husband for an intimate dinner at The Twenty Two in London.

Sharapova was celebrating the 20th anniversary of her first Wimbledon title at the event, hosted by Imran Amed and Kristina Romanova.

Beatrice and Edoardo’s attendance at the party comes as the royal couple have snubbed the first four days of Wimbledon.

The couple were highly tipped to attend Wimbledon amid the current shortage of working royals, and with King Charles and Queen Camilla being in Edinburgh for Holyrood Week.

The tennis champion was joined at her party by her fiancé Alexander Gilkes, who holds strong connections with the Royal Family.

Gilkes, who lives in New York, co-founded the online art auction house Paddle8 in 2010 and briefly employed Princess Eugenie, Beatrice’s younger sister.

The entrepreneur was previously married to Meghan Markle’s close pal Misha Nonoo for four years before splitting in 2016.

Beatrice and Eugenie both attended Gilkes’s 2012 wedding where US pop star Lana Del Rey performed.

He is also considered good pals with Princes William and Harry, as all three men attended Eton College.

Gilkes is now engaged to Sharapova, who posed with Beatrice for several photographs at the event.

Princess Beatrice looked sophisticated in a bright blue midi skirt from Roksanda and a green blouse from the same brand, before adding pale blue heels from Ralph & Russo to complete the outfit.

Meanwhile, Edoardo opted for a relaxed but smart look with a button-down white shirt paired with high-waisted trousers.

They were pictured smiling with each other in the taxi home after an enjoyable and sociable evening.

The royal couple were joined at the event by stars like Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina, Joel Edgerton, Rita Ora and her husband Taika Waititi, and campaigner Malala Yousafzai.

Gilkes and Sharapova had attended Wimbledon together earlier on Wednesday, where they were pictured smiling in the royal box.

Sharapova retired from playing tennis four years ago after battling with injuries.

A 2016 test saw her suspended for two years after she was found to have ingested meldonium, a substance which had been banned at the start of that year, ahead of the Australian Open.

Her suspension was later reduced to 15 months after she was found to have taken the drug as per her doctor’s advice.
