King Charles III was joined at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday evening by many members of the Royal Family but his wife was absent.

Queen Camilla was forced to withdraw from Remembrance events this weekend due to an ongoing chest infection.

The monarch wore an elegant black suit adorned with medals with his sister Princess Anne sat next to him.

A Palace spokesperson confirmed the Queen would miss the event earlier today as she continues to recover from a chest infection.

The Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “Following doctors’ guidance to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal chest infection, and to protect others from any potential risk, Her Majesty will not attend this weekend’s Remembrance events.

“While this is a source of great disappointment to The Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week.”

The Festival of Remembrance, hosted by Adrian Lester, will feature performances by British music icons including Sir Tom Jones, Alexandra Burke and Jack Savoretti.

The Princess of Wales marked her highest-profile appearance since cancer treatment, emerging as the most senior female royal present at the event.

Catherine looked radiant, wearing her shoulder-length hair down and accessorising with pearl and diamond drop earrings and a pearl necklace.

In a notable departure from previous years where she wore three poppies, the Princess opted for a single poppy this year, complemented by a silver military badge underneath.

Kate stepped back from royal duties at the start of the year and confirmed in March that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment.

In September, the Princess of Wales announced that she had completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment.
