Princess Anne has been dealt a blow as the royal’s plane “struggled to land” amid extreme weather conditions.

The Princess Royal, 74, attended an engagement in Glasgow, despite her flight to Scotland being delayed by over an hour.

The mother-of-two, who this weekend supported King Charles at the Festival of Remembrance, was in the Scottish capital for the HIV Drug Therapy Glasgow Congress.

Arriving at the Scottish Event Campus, Exhibition Way, Anne looked smart in a red coat and a burgundy skirt, despite her flight being diverted to Glasgow Prestwick Airport due to heavy fog at Glasgow Airport.

According to local reports, the Princess Royal circled Lanark six times for more than 40 minutes.

Her flight from Cotswold Airport subsequently “struggled to land” at Glasgow Airport due to extreme weather conditions.

Anne’s flight was eventually diverted to Glasgow Prestwick Airport, where she landed at 12:05pm.

King Charles’s younger sister was due to land at 10:48am in Glasgow.

She completed her look with leather gloves, a matching black handbag and navy-heeled shoes.

The conference in Glasgow discusses current issues in the treatment of people living with HIV, as well as looking at new drugs and new technologies.

Anne’s appearance comes after her outing at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance on Saturday night, where she supported the King.

The Princess of Wales, also in attendance, looked radiant as she arrived at the Festival of Remembrance, her highest-profile appearance since completing cancer treatment.

Kate, 42, wore a mid-length black dress with a V-neck collar, accompanied by a stylish black clutch clutch.

The royal wore her shoulder-length hair down, with large drop pearl and diamond earrings and a pearl necklace.

In past years, Kate has worn a trio of Remembrance Day poppies, but on Saturday she displayed just a single poppy, with a silver military badge underneath.
