Prince William ‘feels guilty’ after making promise to Carole and Michael Middleton

Prince William “feels guilty” after making a promise to Carole and Michael Middleton, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Princess of Wales was the target of many attacks by Omid Scobie in his royal book Endgame, which was said to have made the Prince of Wales feel “guilty and angry”.

Royal author Jennie Bond claimed that Prince William, as a result, will be spoiling Princess Kate for her 42nd birthday on January 9.

She said: “William will spoil her rotten this year because it’s been a really tough time for her.”

Bond also claimed that the prince made a “promise” to Carole and Michael Middleton when he married Kate in 2011.

She explained: “William feels guilty and angry because he promised Kate’s parents that he would protect and look after her.

“The attacks from Omid Scobie were vicious, so William will feel guilty because all she’s done is fall in love with someone who happened to be a future King.

“There’s obviously a lot of baggage that comes with this – it’s a unique and different life which you’ve got to have a very thick skin for.”

As a consequence, William will try and make Kate’s upcoming birthday very special, according to Bond.

She added: “He’s probably got a little bit of romance in him somewhere, and even though he says he’s not a very good cook.

“Kate did tell Mary Berry that he’s quite good at breakfasts, so a special tray complete with a rose could arrive early for Kate.

“I imagine they will spend some quality time with their children, as it’s the last day of their Christmas holiday before they return to school, but perhaps a candle-lit champagne dinner will be on the cards.”

Princess Kate has demonstrated that she’s the ‘real deal’, according to a royal commentator

Throughout her time as a member of the Royal Family, Kate has demonstrated that she’s the “real deal”, according to Bond.

She told OK!: “Kate has demonstrated that she’s the real deal and William constantly shows that he’s hugely proud of her.

“Kate’s strength is drawn from the fact that she was given such a long apprenticeship – those nine or 10 years that she was allowed to see a little bit of what life would be like in the royal court were completely invaluable.”
