Prince Harry has been dealt a blow as the Duke of Sussex’s “US future is now placed in jeopardy”, according to the director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation.
Nile Gardiner spoke exclusively to GB News regarding Prince Harry’s ongoing visa row, and whether this is set to escalate under Donald Trump’s presidency.
Following Trump’s election victory on November 5, Gardiner is once again keen for the Duke of Sussex’s immigration documents to be made public.
In January 2023, Harry wrote about previously taking marijuana, cocaine, and psychedelic mushrooms in his memoir Spare.

Disclosing previous drug use is required when applying for a US visa, and can negatively impact the applicant’s eligibility.
Gardiner and the Heritage Foundation want to know whether Harry, 40, was protected by the Biden administration, and therefore want his visa documents made public.
Harry has previously said he considered becoming a US citizen, but it is not currently a top priority for the duke.
In an exclusive interview with GB News, Gardiner said: “I’m not sure what Harry’s planning with applying for US citizenship and so on.

“Harry’s drug revelations are immensely damaging for him in terms of a long-term future in the United States.
“Any evidence of dishonesty on his immigration application would result in him having to leave the United States and mark the end of any ambition to be a US citizen, certainly.
“I would just ask you to see what happens with regard to what action the next administration will take.”
Trump is currently in the process of hiring a new Homeland Security Secretary, who will be in charge of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Heritage Foundation sued the DHS in 2023 to force the release of the Duke of Sussex’s visa records.
However, in September 2024, it was ruled the documents should remain private.
Following Trump’s election victory earlier this week, Gardiner is keen for the case to be reopened and for Harry’s immigration records to be seen by the public.
Gardiner continued: “Harry should be treated no differently to anyone else who applies to live in the United States really.

“You should not be given any kind of preferential treatment.
“The Biden administration and the liberal elites have tried to protect him from real scrutiny of his immigration records.
“But I think that sense of impunity will be ending shortly.”
