Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Family mistake ‘put off Americans’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “attacks” on the Royal Family “put off” Americans from liking the couple, according to a royal commentator.

Angela Levin, royal author and commentator, has claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s “moaning” threw off Americans when they moved to the US.

Harry and Meghan stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020 and moved to the US, via a short stay in Canada, to start their new lives.

Levin said: “I think endless moaning puts off Americans because they like people who are go-getters rather than those who blame everyone else.

“They also don’t like the attacks on the Royal Family especially as they so loved and admired the Queen.”

Meghan and Harry sat down for an interview with Oprah in 2021 and released a Netflix documentary in 2022 where they spoke out against the Royal Family.

In 2023, Harry released a memoir called Spare where he revealed private details about his relationship with the Royal Family.

The couple’s media productions led South Park creators to mock Harry and Meghan in an episode titled Word Privacy Tour.

In the episode, Harry and Meghan attend an interview with Good Morning Canada holding “we want out privacy,” and “stop looking at us” signs.

Levin said: “Nor do [Americans] like their hypocrisy as seen in South Park – they say they want privacy but they keep appearing at Z-Level awards just to get their pictures.

“By wanting revenge they have thrown their changes down the drain. With no coming back.”

Meghan and Harry’s Netflix deal was also joked about in Seth McFarlane’s Family Guy last year.

During the episode, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sit by a pool and a butler hands them a cheque.

He tells the duke: “Sir, your millions from Netflix for…no one knows what.”

The cartoon depiction of Harry replies: “Put it with the rest of them.”

The Sussexes have also produced other content for Netflix including Heart of Invictus, about the Invictus Games, and the series Live to Lead about world leaders like Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
