Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s eviction ‘planned by Queen’ amid Prince Andrew feud

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s eviction was planned by the late Queen Elizabeth amid an ongoing row with Prince Andrew over his royal residence.

A former adviser to the late Queen revealed that it was the monarch’s suggestion to evict Meghan and Harry from Frogmore Cottage in a new chapter from Charles III: New King. New Court.

Queen Elizabeth II gave Harry and Meghan Frogmore Cottage as a wedding gift in 2018, however, a former adviser of the late Queen has now revealed that she planned to evict the pair from the property.

The late Queen would also have booted Prince Andrew out of Royal Lodge and forced him to downsize to Frogmore Cottage if she had lived long enough, according to insiders.

The former adviser to Elizabeth II said: “Had she lived another year, he would have been out.

“It was her plan to move him out, to end the lease for the Sussexes at Frogmore Cottage and to move Andrew in there.

“It was mainly a money thing, as she could see it was becoming unsustainable.”

The revelations come as King Charles is claimed to have cut off Prince Andrew’s annual £1million allowance and withdrawn funding for his private security.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from royal duties a year later, in January 2020, and moved to California, where they still reside.

Sources claim the decision was made after Andrew refused to vacate the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, where he resides with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

The King requested that the Duke of York move out of the royal residence and downsize into Frogmore Cottage, the former residency of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Andrew signed a 75-year lease agreement with the Crown Estate in 2003 and is not obligated to vacate Royal Lodge.

Charles reportedly cut off Andrew’s £1million yearly allowance and security funding after Andrew refused to downsize his property.

The decision is reported to be part of long-term financial considerations by the King, with Charles understood to be looking around for more affordable accommodation for the prince in the coming decades.

Prior to the release of the claims in the updated royal biography, the Duke of York had planned to pass the property over to his daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, after his death.

Prince Andrew stepped back from Royal duties in 2019 following backlash from his controversial Newsnight interview, where he discussed his friendship with late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The Duke of York has been widely unpopular with the public since stepping back from royal duties.

Both Amazon and Netflix have released TV dramas based on Andrew’s 2019 career-ending interview, which are highly critical of the King’s brother.
