Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will “hurt seeing all the royals together” as they prepare to create new traditions with Archie and Lilibet, according to a royal source.
A source suggests that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may feel mixed emotions as their children will miss out on a traditional royal Christmas, during which the family comes together.
They said: “For Harry, it reminds him that he doesn’t have any of his side of the family to celebrate with.”
The Royal Family traditionally spend Christmas at Sandringham House, the late Queen’s country estate in Norfolk.

King Charles will lead the family to attend a Christmas Day church service at St Mary Magdalene Church, a short distance from the Estate.
The source told OK! that this will bring back fond memories for Prince Harry as he enjoyed joining his family on the occasion when growing up.
They said: “The kids won’t be seeing their cousins, and that was one of his favourite things growing up – all the cousins playing together at Sandringham.
“It may well even hurt seeing all the royals together, going to church and just enjoying each other’s company.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to spend Christmas in Montecito, California with their two children.
The pair moved to California after announcing they would step back from senior working royals in January 2020.
Prince Harry is thought to not be on speaking terms with Prince William or King Charles following several accusations and damming statements of the Royal Family.
Harry released his controversial memoir Spare in January 2023, in which he was highly critical of members of the family.

The source revealed that although Archie and Lilibet will not spend the festive period with their cousins, Harry and Meghan look forward to making their own Christmas traditions with their new family.
They added: “They both really wish that they could have all their families together and have a huge Christmas but they know that will never happen.
“So they have to make new memories and traditions with their children and those close to them.”
