Pontins has shared it will close two of its seaside locations immediately.

The resorts have been closed with all upcoming trips cancelled for devastated families.

Pontins Holidays has shut its Prestatyn and Camber Sands locations, affecting the jobs of staff.

A statement said: “We regret to inform you that our parks in Prestatyn and Camber Sands will be closing with immediate effect.

“Customers whose bookings will be affected by these closures will be contacted by our team and refunded. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The holidays will not go ahead for families who have booked a winter trip at the resorts.

Holidaymakers have been offered a refund but many have shared their sadness on the official Pontins Holidays Facebook page.

One wrote: “I had a feeling this was going to happen. Sad times.”

“Why would you start refurbishment and then just close down it’s so sad,” another said.

The Prestatyn branch was already closed, however this was said to be for renovations. A third questioned why it has now closed “for good”.

Pontins is a family resort which had six locations in the UK.

Customers will now only be able to visit locations at Pakefield Holiday Village, Southport Holiday Park and Sand Bay Holiday Village.

Holidaymakers can still visit its other locations

It offers family getaways from £79 per night, based on four sharing a one bedroom self-catering apartment.

It is known for seaside resorts but Britons can visit no matter the weather, with stays available between March and September, as well as in December.

Those visiting can enjoy a range of facilities for holidaymakers including restaurants and a swimming pool on site.

There is also entertainment and shows put on by Bluecoat performers.
