Greater Manchester Police have given a statement after a British boy missing for six years was found in France.
Alex Batty, who disappeared in Spain aged 11, was found by a motorist who spotted him walking in the rain near Toulouse.
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes said: “We are relieved and overjoyed to receive the news from French authorities Alex Batty has been found safe and well.”
This is a “huge moment” for Alex, his community in Oldham and his family, he added.
