Police have launched a manhunt after a woman was attacked and rape after the Royal Ascot racing fetsival.

A woman in her twenties was walking on a footpath when a young white man in a “dark hooded top” assaulted her last Friday between 11.00pm and 11.30pm.

He has been described to be of slim build, average height, and in his early to mid-twenties.

The offender was riding a dark-coloured bike that “may have had yellow detail on it”, police said.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said today: “Officers are appealing for witnesses following a rape that happened in the town of Ascot.

“Between 11pm and 11.30pm on Friday a woman was walking on a footpath near Station Hill, when she was approached by a man who then raped her.

“The victim, a woman aged in her 20s, is being supported by specially trained officers.

“The offender is described as a white man in his early to mid-20s, of average height and of slim build. He was wearing a black or dark hooded top, with the hood up. He was riding a dark coloured bike that may have had yellow detail on it.

“No-one has been arrested at this time.”
