Elon Musk is said to be planning to list rocket maker SpaceX in June to coincide with a rare planetary alignment and his birthday.
The world’s richest man, whose fortune is estimated at almost £500billion, is targeting the period around Jupiter and Venus appearing almost side-by-side in the sky on June 8 and 9, and his 55th birthday on June 28.
The initial public offering is set to be the largest in history, with SpaceX seeking to raise as much as £36billion giving it a value of more than £1trillion, according to the Financial Times.
That would exceed the £21billion raised by Saudi Aramco in 2019.
Several high-profile banks are said to have been lined up for the listing, including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America.
