The daughter of Phillip Schofield, Molly, 31, has taken to social media to pay tribute to her grandmother, Pat.

On Monday night, the former This Morning star, 62, took to Instagram to confirm his mother had died – weeks after he’d made his highly-anticipated return to TV screens.

Schofield shared a snap of himself alongside his late mother and explained in the caption: “Today, at 3pm and after a heartbreaking weekend, my magnificent mum decided it was time to go to her beloved Brian.

“Over three days, we held her, loved her, hugged her, and said everything that needed to be said.

“She was calm, peaceful, beautiful and dignified. I will forever be proud and privileged that she was my mum.”

The TV presenter then expressed gratitude to the medical team who helped his mother in her final days.

“Our eternal thanks to the paramedics, Treliske A&E and Critical Care team who have been, in the past and this weekend, my mum’s and our angels,” he continued. “Your love and care has been our saviour.”

Schofield’s eldest daughter decided to follow suit as she too took to Instagram to pay tribute to her grandmother.

The 31-year-old first shared her father’s announcement on her Instagram Stories alongside a heartbroken emoji.

In a second update, Schofield’s daughter posted a snap of her own alongside her grandma and sister Ruby.

In the accompanying caption, the 31-year-old had a poignant request for her grandmother involving her late grandfather.

“Love you so much Bo,” she penned. “Give a huge kiss to Bri when you see him,” followed by an angel wing emoji.

The prospect of her grandparents being reunited in another realm prompted Schofield’s daughter to also share an image of them both from yesteryear.

Beginning with a love heart emoji, Schofield’s eldest added in the caption: “Together again x.” (sic)

On his own social media page, Schofield shared a number of photos of his mother as he paid his respects.

He also included a clip of his mum Pat on-board a plane, revealing in the caption: “God I loved her for wanting to do this. One of the oldest ever ladies to wing walk.”

Schofield too took a moment to remember his father as well, sharing a photo of the pair and writing: “Together again.”

The 62-year-old reflected on his relationships with his parents several times while he was abandoned on a desert island for Channel 5’s Cast Away earlier this month.

Schofield, who was making his first return to screens since his ITV axe in May 2023, became emotional several times as he reminisced about his parents and upbringing.

However, his TV return hit a rather divisive chord with viewers watching at home, with some “switching off” as they all shared a similar complaint.
