A new offer has been launched that could see petrol and diesel motorists save money at the pumps at a major supermarket.
Morrisons has launched a new deal allowing drivers to save money on every litre of fuel they buy at the pumps.
Anyone who spends £35 in a Morrisons supermarket will receive a coupon giving them 5p off every litre of petrol and diesel they purchase.
The offer is available to customers who shop in-store or online, as well as those using the Click and Collect service.
Drivers can redeem the voucher until February 4
MORRISONS
The offer at the pumps will run from today, Thursday, January 18, until Sunday, January 28.
Drivers can make the savings at all Morrisons petrol stations, although customers have until Sunday, February 4 to redeem the coupon.
Motorists using a More Card will still earn their usual five points for every litre of fuel they buy, in addition to the 5p per litre discount.
By building up their points when spending, they can be rewarded with Morrisons Fivers, helping them save more money at the supermarket
Rachel Eyre, chief customer and marketing officer at Morrisons, championed the move, saying drivers could make use of the 340 filling stations around the UK.
She said: “We know January can be a financial squeeze after the expense of Christmas so to help our customers’ budgets go a little further, we’re giving them 5p off every litre of fuel if they spend £35 in store.
“Along with our recent price cut activity, this fuel deal shows our ongoing commitment to help our customers with their household bills.”
Drivers are being warned that the deal is not redeemable at franchised Morrisons Daily petrol stations and the £35 spend excludes items like fuel, tobacco, lottery products and postage stamps.
The supermarket has invested £15million to cut the price of popular products in stores, as well as locking the prices of over 1,000 items to help people save money in the new year.
Data from RAC Fuel Watch shows that the average price of petrol at Morrisons supermarkets is 137.1p per litre and 145.6p for diesel.
Across all locations, there is a 13p spread of prices, with some forecourts selling unleaded for just 130.9p per litre.
A similar spread can be seen for diesel, with Morrisons filling stations charging between 139.9p and 151.9p.
