A Penn State supporter provoked an angry response from Philadelphia radio hosts after making a crass joke about Tim Walz.

Walz was the Democratic nominee for vice president, alongside presidential hopeful Kamala Harris, but they were beaten by Donald Trump and JD Vance in this week’s election.

The Minnesota governor is a former teacher and football coach and one Penn State supporter went on air to suggest he could replace current head coach James Franklin.

‘Wouldn’t Tim be a cheaper option and come with tampons for the team?’ they said.

Penn State was beaten by Ohio State last week and the fan decided to call in to a phone-in on The Mike Missanelli Show, hosted by the Philadelphia radio journalist.

Radio host Mike Missanelli slammed the fan, accusing them of ‘trying to be a wise-a**’

‘I’m just a frustrated Penn State alum right now… and I just wondered: If you’re the athletic director, you have an abundance of resources are you keeping Franklin or are you going after a guy now that’s unemployed like Tim Walz?’ the fan began.

A perplexed Missanelli pointed out that Franklin – whose team is 7-1 for the season – has a $60million buy-out in his contract.

‘Tim Walz? They have no choice but to keep him,’ the host said. ‘And they actually like him… the administration is perfectly happy with how he conducts the program.’

Then, after the fan followed up with the joke about tampons, Missanelli and his co-host vented their frustration.

‘He’s just trying to be a wise-a**,’ Missanelli said. ‘Why would you do something like that and waste our time?’

His co-host responded: ‘Why today? He sat on hold for a long time… come on man, be better.’
