Patrick Mahomes has revealed he reached out to Josh Allen to make amends after his furious post-game exchange with the Buffalo Bills quarterback on Sunday.
Mahomes was left seething when a late offside call denied the Kansas City Chiefs a potential game-winning touchdown against Buffalo, with Kadarius Toney deemed to have been the wrong side of the line of scrimmage before the ball was snapped.
Despite replays confirming the decision was correct, the Chiefs’ star quarterback let the red mist descend at Arrowhead, slamming his helmet down in anger before teammates had to hold him back on the sidelines.
After the game, he then made his frustrations known when embracing fellow quarterback Allen as he moaned while shaking his head in disgust: ‘Wildest f***ing call I’ve ever seen. F***ing terrible.’
Mahomes has since held his hands up and admitted his actions were out of line on Sunday, insisting he will accept any punishment that comes his way.

Mahomes moaned that a late offside call which cost the Chiefs was ‘f****ng terrible’ to Allen
The Kansas City quarterback concedes he should have shown him ‘better sportsmanship’
And in a press conference on Wednesday, he also conceded that the rant he subjected Allen to was unsportsmanlike.
‘[It was] definitely emotion talking when I was talking to Josh at midfield. Just [from] losing the football game, a tough football game in a tough way,’ Mahomes said.
‘But I let it go on too long ‘cos he had nothing to do with it. So [I should] just show better sportsmanship, tell him great game and keep it moving.’
Mahomes was then asked if he has spoken with Allen since his post-game tirade.
‘Yeah man. I talk to Josh a lot, so we’re all good,’ he revealed.
‘But I’ll keep those conversations to ourselves.’
Mahomes was ultimately left red-faced after his animated protests when the officials’ call to flag for an offensive offside on Toney was proven to be correct.
The Chiefs wideout was in the neutral zone before the ball was snapped, meaning a magnificent piece of play from Travis Kelce which released him through for the touchdown counted for nothing.
Mahomes also sent a message of encouragement to Chiefs wideout Kadarius Toney after his offside cost them a win
Though while that offside call cost Kansas City the win, Mahomes has sent a message to Toney and urged him to stay positive after his error on Sunday.
‘Just be you man. . . . You make one mistake, that’s not gonna define you. It’s gonna be how you respond to that mistake,’ he said about Toney.
The quarterback added that ‘all the receivers know I believe in them’.
