The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) said: “The product presents a risk of injuries as it has been identified that a gap may appear between the handle and the seat shell, usually on one side.

“In certain circumstances, the handle may become loose or detach on one side, causing the car seat to move unexpectedly.

“The affected products do not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

“The product has been recalled from end users. Owners should stop using the handle to carry the seat immediately.

“For further information, including on how to register for a collection and modification to the product, please access the MyBabiie safety notice at the following link: https://mybabiie.com/pages/safety-notices.”

Affected customers can also contact My Babiie at info@mybabiee.com for information.

My Babiie told customers: “Please note, no other product is affected by this voluntary recall.

“We’ve identified a potential safety concern where a gap may appear between the handle and the seat shell, usually on one side.

While this does not affect the car seat’s performance inside a vehicle or during a crash, it could pose a safety risk when carrying the infant carrier outside the car.

“In certain instances, the handle may become loose or detach on one side causing the car seat to move unexpectedly.
