Ozzy Osbourne farewell gigs confirmed after years of health woes led to axed shows

Ozzy Osbourne is preparing to say goodbye to fans in two final shows on stage, according to his wife Sharon.

The legendary rocker was forced to cancel his tour dates last year as his physical health left him unable to perform.

He said in a statement in February 2023: “I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realisation that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required.”

Osbourne’s health has been a major talking point for news outlets across the globe in recent years with the singer having undergone three major operations following a spinal injury he sustained after a fall in 2019.

As part of his recovery, he also underwent recovery stem cell treatments, physical therapy and Cybernics (HAL), a robotic treatment.

Osbourne also went public with his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2020.

Ozzy’s wife Sharon confirmed the singer was planning a stage return

But he’s ready to hit the stage for a final time in 2024 – although it won’t be as part of a tour.

His wife told the Mirror: “He won’t tour again but we are planning on doing two more shows to say goodbye.

“He feels like, ‘I have never said goodbye to my fans and I want to say goodbye properly’.”

And Osbourne and his team have even identified where he wants to perform the final few shows.

“We will do it in Aston Villa where Ozzy is from,” she added – Osbourne grew up in Marston Green in the West Midlands.

Osbourne underwent another operation back in September but has admitted he does not want to face anymore going forward in 2024.

He said in a September 2023 episode of The Osbournes Podcast: “”Regardless of the way it ends up after tomorrow, I’m not doing it anymore. I can’t.”

Exact details on any future gigs remain under wraps for now, but Osbourne has return to social media since his wife confirmed his plans to hit the stage again.

The Black Sabbath singer marked 40 years since he took to the stage at Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey with a series of snaps from the gig.

He shared the milestone on X, formerly Twitter, and was soon flooded with fans sharing their delight at seeing him on stage.
