Our Yorkshire Farm’s Reuben Owen lands huge new career move following Channel 5 show axe

Our Yorkshire Farm star Reuben Owen has landed in his own Channel 5 series after gaining a following from his parents’ successful series.

The news comes just a week after Amanda Owen made her return to TV following the cancellation of the hit series and her split from husband Clive Owen.

Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales will follow the youngster across six episodes where he will attempt to continue to grow his business and love for machinery with his friend Tommy McWhirter and girlfriend Sarah Dow.

Viewers will be introduced to the team at the start of Reuben’s second year of trading, with the team winning a contract to restore life to an old fishing pond at a grand country estate in County Durham – excavating 6,000 tonnes of silt.

The team have to dig half an acre, which is their biggest job yet, and finish within their two week deadline which hangs in the balance of 17-year-old Sarah making trips back and forth to shift the silt.

Owen, Dow and McWhirter’s job is interrupted by heavy summer rain and turns the pit into a slurry, leaving Owen to fight for his 14-tonne digger being swallowed.

The trio will give an insight into their day to day jobs

Also during the show, the trio take on an ancient haulage yard where they can store and maintain their fleet.

A trip to Peterborough is also on the cards as they attend the PlantWorx Expo and Owen competes against some of the best operators in the country with hopes of winning a luxury holiday.

Owen is the second oldest child in the clan and often keeps his fans updated with any new additions to his machinery collection over on his Instagram.

His latest post saw him geared up in a hi-vis jacket and trekking out in the snow as he penned: “First run out on the TE20 after rebuilding its hydraulic pump.”

Whilst the 18-year-old failed to wish his mother a Happy Mother’s day on social media last week, his older sister Raven Owen made up for it with a touching post.

Alongside a photo of herself and her mother, she simply penned: “Happy Mother’s Day @yorkshireshepherdess Love you xoxo.” (sic)

The mother of nine recently returned to TV last week and appeared on an episode of A Yorkshire Farm alongside Helen Skelton.

After her marriage breakdown, Owen shut the doors to her farm – Ravenseat – last summer and explained they were closed “until further notice”.
