Omid Scobie’s agent ‘did send draft manuscript naming King Charles and Kate’

Omid Scobie’s agency did send a draft manuscript that contained the names of King Charles and Kate as the royals who allegedly had concerns about Prince Archie’s skin colour, a source has claimed.

United Talent Agency sent a final version of Endgame weeks before publication that did not name either of the royals.

However, before this, an earlier draft version of the book that did name King Charles and Kate was sent to Dutch publisher Xander Uitgevers, according to The Times.

The Dutch translator interpreted the draft version of Endgame rather than the final approved version of the book, the source has claimed.

Scobie has denied leaking the names in Endgame and previously said no version of his book contained the names of the accused royals.

Due to the long process of translating books, it is common for agents to send early versions to foreign publishers.

Copies of the Dutch version of the book were urgently pulled from shelves across the Netherlands after the “error” was identified.

The Dutch publishers said in a statement last week: “Xander Uitgevers was forced to temporarily withdraw the book from the market because an error had occurred in the Dutch edition.”

Scobie has denied leaking the names in Endgame and previously said no version of his book contained the names of the accused royals.

Sources close to Meghan have insisted the Duchess of Sussex never intended to publicly identify them and that no one in her camp leaked the information to Scobie.

“The names of the royals were there in black and white. I did not add them.”

Sources close to Meghan Markle, who named the pair in a letter she wrote to the King, have insisted the Duchess of Sussex never intended to publicly identify them and that no one in her camp leaked the information to Scobie.

The Duchess of Sussex claimed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that there were “concerns and conversations” within the Royal Family about how dark Prince Archie’s skin might be when he was born.

Meghan said during the interview when outlining her decision not to name the members of the Royal Family: “I think that would be very damaging to them.”
