The Oldham Way closures will take place between 20:00 and 05:00 BST from the Manchester Road roundabout to the junction of Prince Street and Oldham Way.
An Oldham Council spokesperson said: “We apologise in advance, but by carrying out the work when traffic is at its lowest levels we hope to keep disruption to a minimum,” they added.
Maintenance works will also be carried out on street lights during the closures.
The works form part of an ongoing project to “future-proof” the town’s highways, which have resulted in a series of closures over the last two years.
The local authority previously said the works had been delayed by “unexpected complications”.
