Nick Knowles has provided an update about this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing after having to miss last week’s live show.

The DIY SOS presenter, 62, has faced an unlucky time on the show so far, having injured his arm after the first week and then hurting his leg before week three.

There were fears Knowles would have to miss another week, as he explained on Wednesday’s It Takes Two he’d just been given the green light by medics to begin training on Thursday.

However, in a happy update, the BBC announced the presenter would indeed be back on Saturday’s show.

A spokesperson stated: “We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will be dancing in this Saturday’s show.

“Nick has been cleared to dance by the medical and physio teams following his injury last week.

“Due to time taken out of training this week, they will be performing their Movies Week Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2.”

It comes after Knowles initially hurt his shoulder while changing a tyre, leaving him in a sling.

He managed to get the OK to dance the following weekend, but the injury meant he had barely any rehearsal time alongside partner Luba Mushtuk.

During his rehearsals for last week’s show, however, he damaged his knee, explaining it was “quite painful”.

Physios decided he needed an MRI and he didn’t perform in last weekend’s show.

Joining Janette Manrara on Wednesday’s Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, Knowles and Mushtuk discussed the latest on his injury.

“Nick, what a journey. Talk us through what happened on Friday,” Manrara requested.

“God, we had a great week learning the dance and we were doing the camera tech rehearsals – when the cameras see how the dance works,” he recalled.

“The very last step of the dance, I was late and I leapt to the position and the rest of me moved, my one leg stayed so… I hurt my knee.”

As they talked about potentially adjusting the dance, Knowles admitted: “Do you know what? I’m getting sick and tired of my injuries!

“Everyone else must be getting fed up with it as well. So I want to be able to do the dance well enough tomorrow that we focus on the dance and not any of the other things.”

Reflecting on his co-stars, he continued: “And if you think about it, everybody else has got things to deal with. Chris [McCausland] is doing amazing things every week.

“Punam [Krishan] is actually holding down a job as GP whilst training!”
