Naomi Watts’ eldest child Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete Schreiber sweetly held hands with her at the 62nd New York Film Festival screening of her new movie The Friend on Thursday.

The 17-year-old high school senior has grown so tall he easily towered over his famous 56-year-old mother, who gave her own 5ft5in stature a boost with black patent leather pumps.

Sasha coordinated with Naomi in an all-black suit accented with a gold necklace while she bared her toned arms in a bustier tucked into a voluminous PVC midi-skirt selected by stylist Jeanann Williams.

Watts turned up the wattage with a fancy pair of diamond chandelier earrings, and she wore her signature middle-parted blonde bob for the film festivities held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in Manhattan.

The two-time Oscar nominee was also seen wearing a tuxedo blazer, capelike around her shoulders, and she toted a reptilian clutch as she made her way to the venue.

‘You have a heart of gold. I’m so very proud of you. 17 years ago you shot into the world with your arms reaching for the sky,’ Naomi – who boasts 1.9M Instagram followers – gushed of her supportive son in July.

‘You are a force but with the most gentle soul. I thank my lucky stars that you chose me to be your mum. And I’m so very grateful to have you by my side here. I love you. Keep reaching for the stars.’

Schreiber has his 6ft3in famous father – Liev Schreiber – to thank for his imposing height.

Watts and the 56-year-old Perfect Couple actor also welcomed 15-year-old Kai Schreiber during their 11-year relationship, which amicably ended in 2016 before they met their current spouses.

The British-born Australian just celebrated her 56th birthday last Saturday with a game of pickle ball and a couples massage with her Gypsy leading man-turned-husband, Billy Crudup.

Naomi executive produced and stars as Manhattan writer Iris, who inherits a 150lb Great Dane called Apollo (played by Bing) after her best friend and mentor Walter (Bill Murray) commits suicide, in the drama about loss.

The Friend currently has an impressive 100% critic approval rating (out of 14 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes.

And while at the screening, Watts beamed as she reunited with Bing, who made his acting debut in the 120-minute movie.
