Police have confirmed the body of a man found during a search in Gwynedd has been formally identified as a missing 92-year-old. North Wales Police said they confirmed the body of a man was found during searches for a missing person in the Criccieth area on Sunday, December 29.
The police force has now issued a further update confirming that the man has now been formally identified as the missing man whose name they have only given as William. The pensioner was last spotted on Saturday, December 28, on a bus journey from Caernarfon heading towards Criccieth.
In a statement a force spokesman said there were thought to be no suspicious circumstances. They added: “Our deepest condolences remain with William’s family who have requested for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time. Thank you to partner agencies, volunteers, and members of the public who assisted in our searches.”
