Migrant crisis: Tom Harwood up in arms while Labour ‘takes the mickey’ with ‘one in, one out’ scheme

GB News star Tom Harwood was left fuming after a migrant, who was deported under Labour’s one-in, one-out scheme, returned to Britain on a small boat.

After a mere 29 days, the illegal migrant made the perilous journey back to British shores from northern France, a minister confirmed.

“The farce of this migrant who was sent out,” Tom raged.

“I mean, we’ve only sent 42 migrants back to France out of the thousands who’ve come here since this one in, one out deal was was established: 42 were sent back and one of them immediately hopped on a small boat to return to the UK.”

Sir Keir Starmer has promised that the UK would return the migrant “very, very swiftly”, attempting to bat off accusations that his Government’s approach to illegal migration was “in tatters”.

Giving an update on the Iranian man, the Prime Minister confirmed he had been detailed and will be “fast-tracked back out of the country”.

“Who would have thought that would ever possibly be something that could happen?” Tom fumed.

“Only everybody, I mean, apart from the Government, obviously, who didn’t think that would be a thing. I mean, the French Government have admitted that they don’t treat migrants as well as we do.”

The man, who is currently being held in a detention centre, said that he would have “never returned” to the UK if he felt France was safe.

“Well, it’s a mess, isn’t it? Because on the one hand, the Government says no one should come across by small boat,” Tom said.

“This is not the right thing to do. You’re breaking the law. You’re jumping the queue. All of that. That’s what they say.

“But then what happens when someone comes across by small boats?” Tom ranted.

“Welcome to the United Kingdom,” the GB News star sarcastically slung.

“Here’s your hotel. Here’s your discount spa entry and your discount e-bike and everything else that all these councils give these illegal migrants.”

“At what point do we start to think that actually what matters here is not what the Government says, but what the Government does? That’s the impression the migrants get.”

In agreement, Dawn added: “Joking aside, it is ridiculous. I mean, we have got people living homeless here.

Tom hit out at the ‘farce’ that a migrant has already returned under the ‘one in, one out’ deal

GB NEWS

“People worry about paying their bills and we have got the Government literally just taking the mickey out of this all.”

Earlier this week on Wednesday, Sir Keir Starmer’s “smash the gangs” policy suffered its latest blow as GB News figures confirmed the number of migrants arriving illegally by small boat has passed the total for the whole of last year.

The grim milestone figure was passed at lunchtime on Wednesday when two Border Force vessels arrived at Dover harbour as 220 migrants made the perilous journey.

This takes the total number of arrivals so far this year to 36,956, which is 70 more than the 36,816 migrants who crossed the Channel illegally during the whole of 2024.
