Meghan Markle’s “updated engagement ring” may have cost £250 to change, a style expert has exclusively told GB News.

The Duchess of Sussex did not wear her engagement ring for multiple months during the course of 2023, sparking many rumours the jewel was “missing”.

When Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, travelled to Germany for the Invictus Games in September 2023, the duchess made headlines for not wearing her ring once during her stay.

The ring was finally seen when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Jamaica for the Bob Marley: One Love film premiere in January 2024.

The mother-of-two later donned the jewel for her trip to Florida with Prince Harry in April.

The ring, which contains two jewels from the late Princess Diana’s collection, appeared larger than usual after not being seen by royal fans for the majority of 2023.

Tony French, the Regional Sales Manager at Austen & Blake, spoke exclusively to GB News to explain how the ring may have been altered.

He said: “Meghan’s iconic three-stone trilogy engagement ring featuring two diamonds from Princess Diana’s jewellery collection has adorned her finger since 2017.

“It’s garnered much adulation from royal fans and jewellery experts alike for its timeless design and sentimental value.

“Prince Harry is said to have designed the ring with a centre cushion cut diamond complimented by two smaller stones on either side.

“More recently, Meghan’s engagement ring appears to have undergone a few alterations.

“It’s unknown exactly what types of alterations have been undertaken, but she seems to have replaced the yellow gold shank of the ring with a sleek diamond-studded band and the central stone has reportedly changed.”

French gave some insight into how much the alterations may have cost the Duchess of Sussex.

He added: “The cost of resizing an engagement ring like this could range anywhere between £75 and £250 depending on how many sizes are required and indeed whether it is even possible.

“It usually takes a few hours to a few days at the most, depending on which jeweller or workshop is used.

“We typically receive requests for ring resizing mostly for changes in finger sizes.
