Meghan Markle has demonstrated her impressive Spanish language abilities in a new Netflix documentary about professional polo, where Prince Harry proudly declares his wife is “fluent” in the language.
The Duchess of Sussex showcases her linguistic skills during a brief appearance in the fifth episode of the newly released series “Polo”.
The moment occurs when Prince Harry introduces Meghan to polo legend Alfonso Cambiaso during a charity match for his non-profit Sentebale.
While making the introduction, Harry reveals his wife’s fluency in Spanish, leading to a natural conversation between the Duchess and Cambiaso in the language.

The exchange marks one of the few appearances by the couple in the five-part documentary series, which launched on Netflix on Tuesday.
During the conversation, Meghan revealed she had lived in Argentina two decades ago, telling Cambiaso in Spanish: “I lived there about 20 years ago. In Palermo Viejo (Buenos Aires).”
She also mentioned spending time in Las Canitas, to which Cambiaso noted was where the polo fields were located.
A humorous moment followed when Cambiaso asked if Harry could speak Spanish. Meghan jokingly replied “Yes!” before Harry quickly admitted: “He knows I don’t.”

The Duchess also speaks fluent French, making her trilingual.
The new Netflix series primarily focuses on professional polo players, with Harry and Meghan making only limited appearances throughout the five episodes.

According to People magazine, Meghan developed her Spanish skills while interning at the US Embassy in Argentina and studying abroad in Madrid.
Her language abilities have previously impressed others, including Father Greg Boyle of Homeboy Industries charity in Los Angeles, who praised her “perfect” Spanish during a 2020 visit.
The documentary, produced by the couple’s Archewell Productions, has reportedly left Netflix executives wanting “more bang for its buck” from their £80 million deal.
One Hollywood producer told MailOnline: “Any reasonable person tuning into a show about polo made by Prince Harry would expect Harry to take a starring role.”
The series has been nicknamed ‘the Nacho show’ behind-the-scenes, due to its focus on Argentinian player Nacho Figueras rather than the royal couple.
The documentary is one of two projects the Sussexes currently have in production with Netflix, with another focusing on Meghan’s love of cooking and gardening.
