Meghan Markle is “confident her Netflix show will be a success” after taking a “Royal Family knock”, a royal source has claimed.

The former working royal’s eight-part Netflix series will feature a host of celebrities joining the Duchess of Sussex for gardening and cooking segments.

Among the star-studded guests is actress Mindy Kaling, who has praised Meghan’s performance on the show.

According to sources, Kaling claimed that Meghan “blew her out of the water” during filming.

The lifestyle-focused programme will showcase Meghan sharing her tips and expertise with her celebrity friends.

A source told OK!: “She is so confident it’s going to do well and she will get the accolades she deserves for it, which will finally shut some people up. She can’t wait.”

The 43-year-old duchess is reportedly determined to send a strong message to those who have questioned her abilities.

The source noted that Meghan’s previous experience as a successful actress and TV professional has bolstered her confidence in the project.

“She has always been confident in her own abilities and while her confidence took a knock when she was in the Royal Family, she is riding high again and she’s so proud of this show,” the insider added.

The duchess is reportedly keen to establish herself beyond her royal connections, with the source noting she “doesn’t really mention them” in the show.

“People tend to underestimate her, but Meghan knows what the audience wants and she is giving them that with this show,” the source explained.

“People always open up to her because she listens and cares.

The insider emphasised that Meghan is determined to prove she can succeed independently, countering claims that her fame stems solely from her marriage to Prince Harry.

Meghan’s Netflix show was originally due to drop on Netflix on January 15, however, the duchess has delayed the programme due to the ongoing LA wildfires.

In a statement, Meghan said: “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”
