Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will jet off on an unofficial royal tour just days after the Duke of Sussex returns to the UK.

Prince Harry will fly to London next week to give a reading at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8 to mark the Invictus Games’ tenth anniversary.

Meghan Markle’s attendance at the event has not been confirmed.

In 2023, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex featured in a Netflix documentary titled Heart of Invictus that followed the 2022 edition of the games in the Netherlands.

Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 when he was still a working member of the Royal Family.

No senior member of the Royal Family is expected to attend the event next Wednesday.

The Duke of Sussex will have limited time to see his family in the UK as he is scheduled to jet off to Nigeria to join Meghan just days after touching down in London.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed in 2022 that she is 43 per cent Nigerian which she discovered after doing a genealogy test.

She said on her Archetypes podcast: “I’m going to start to dig deeper into all this because anybody that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are like ‘What!'”

The Duchess of Sussex has not visited the UK since September 2022 following Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

Prince Harry’s most recent trip to the UK came in February 2024 after Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.

The King’s youngest son flew to London and met with his father for 45 minutes at Clarence House.

Harry did not see the Prince and Princess of Wales during his short trip to the UK earlier this year.

However, Harry’s upcoming visit to the UK will be his first since Princess Kate announced she had undergone preventative chemotherapy after cancer was found in tests carried out following a significant abdominal surgery at the London Clinic.
