Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have released their Christmas card for 2025 within minutes after sharing a major announcement regarding their charitable organisation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are renaming their charitable organisation from the Archewell Foundation to Archewell Philanthropies, coinciding with the charity’s fifth anniversary.

They shared the update on the news section of their official website just minutes after they revealed their Christmas card for this year.

The festive greeting read: “On behalf of the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Archewell, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year.”

Rather than include a photo of the couple together, this year the Sussexes opted to include a two-minute video of their engagements as part of the digital Christmas card.

On Thursday, Princess Kate and Prince William shared a new family photo including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as part of their Christmas card this year.

The picture of the Wales family was taken in April 2025 during a family photoshoot by Josh Shinner, which was done in Norfolk ahead of Prince Louis’ seventh birthday.

The Prince and Princess of Wales accompanied the photograph with the caption: “Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas.”

Archewell’s rebrand signals a new phase for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s charitable endeavours.

The couple established the foundation following their departure from senior royal roles and subsequent relocation to Los Angeles in 2020.

Their philanthropic venture operates under the guiding principle: “Show up, do good”.

The name Archewell derives from two elements: “arche”, an ancient Greek term signifying “source of action”, combined with “well”, which represents “a plentiful source or supply, a place we go to dig deep”.

Throughout 2025, the charity has championed the cause of safer online environments and pushed for responsible AI development practices.

Additionally, Archewell has provided funding to support children affected by the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.

A spokeswoman for Harry and Meghan said: “This next chapter allows Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to broaden their global philanthropic efforts as a family, with meaningful reach and maximum impact, grounded in the same values, partnerships, and their commitment to show up and do good.”

The renamed organisation will enable the couple to expand their international charitable work whilst maintaining their founding principles.
