Max Verstappen has continued his seemingly inexorable push for a fourth straight Formula One championship with victory at the Japanese Grand Prix.

The Red Bull star cruised to another race win at Suzuka on Sunday morning, ahead of team-mate Sergio Perez, as the reigning constructors champions dominated the paddock once again.

While there were few surprises on the podium, with Carlos Sainz coming home in third for Ferrari, the race got off to a dramatic start.

Alex Albon and Danny Ricciardo were involved in a big crash in the opening lap that saw the race delayed by a lengthy red flag.

For Mercedes, it was another gruelling day, with Lewis Hamilton finishing in ninth, two spots behind team-mate George Russell.
