Balaclava-clad youths were filmed riding bikes around The Meadows on Saturday afternoon before reportedly ‘shouting at children’ and pulling wheelies.

Locals are understood to have called the police who arrived after the youths had scarpered, as one eye witness hit out at the “pathetic” act and said it was “horrible to see.”

In a video sent to Edinburgh Live, youths wearing balaclavas can be seen riding around the park while pulling wheelies dodging those sitting on the ground as the witness added they were shouting abuse and scaring children before the police were called.

They said: “A biker gang were causing havoc in the meadows yesterday. Doing wheelies, shouting abuse, wearing balaclavas and scaring children. It was really pathetic, the police arrived later on but it was too late.
