A 43-year-old man has been charged with a bomb hoax following a suspicious package incident at the US Embassy in Nine Elms, London.
Daniel Parmenter, of Kildare Terrace, W2, was charged after police responded to reports outside the embassy on Friday, November 22.
The incident prompted a significant police response and led to a controlled explosion being carried out at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police implemented road closures in the Nine Elms area as a precautionary measure.
The force has confirmed there are no current links between this investigation and any similar incidents of reported suspicious packages in recent days.
Parmenter was arrested on Sunday after police conducted a search of his home address.

He appeared before Ealing Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 25.
Parmenter was remanded in custody.
He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey for his next court appearance on Monday, December 23.
The embassy has historically been a focal point for various demonstrations, including anti-racism protests following George Floyd’s death in 2020.
