A 35-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a suspected acid attack outside a west London school has been released on bail.

Tegan McFarlane, 14, was forced to have surgery after suffering “potentially life-changing” injuries following the attack on Monday afternoon.

A boy, 16, also hurt in Monday’s attack outside Westminster Academy in Notting Hill, west London, has been treated for “less severe” injuries.

A 14-year-old girl arrested in connection with the incident has also been bailed.

Police say a lone man on an electric scooter threw a substance at the teens before fleeing along Harrow Road. They continue to appeal for dashcam footage.

Teagan’s father, Corey McFarlane, said his daughter was experiencing “shock, pain, and trauma” both physically and emotionally.

She is said to have sustained burns to the left side of her face, and was due to undergo surgery on Thursday.

“This situation has also deeply affected my daughter mentally,” said McFarlane, 37. “She’s very traumatised by the attack.

“She’s very scared about her injuries. She’s a young girl, and these scars could be for life. She’s very worried about that.”

The injured boy has since been discharged from hospital.

Detectives urge anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
