• Anthony Joshua will fight Daniel Dubois in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley
  • Saturday’s headline event will follow a three-song live set by Liam Gallagher
  • Gallagher will sing Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Supersonic, and Cigarettes and Alcohol

Wembley Stadium is sold out for Saturday night’s IBF world heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.

That main event is expected to be watched by 96,000 fans in London.

It will take place after a stacked undercard, including Josh Kelly vs Ishmael Davis, Anthony Cacace vs Josh Warrington, Joshua Buatsi vs Willie Hutchinson and Tyler Denny vs Hamzah Sheeraz.

However, the headline warm-up act will be a live performance by Liam Gallagher, who has revealed that he will perform three Oasis hits in Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Supersonic, and Cigarettes and Alcohol.

Gallagher’s Wembley mini-show comes less than 12 months before he and brother Noel will embark on an Oasis reunion tour across the UK and Ireland. That tour will feature seven nights at Wembley and demand for tickets has been huge.

Ahead of Saturday’s event, Gallagher responded to some questions from fans on X (formerly Twitter).

After being asked if he was excited to be playing in front of 96,000 fans, he joked that it was a ‘little on the small side’, before adding: ‘But I’ll manage’.

Gallagher was also asked if he had chosen the three songs that he was going to perform. He replied: ‘Yes it’s wrecked my head’.

A victory for Joshua on Saturday could position him for a shot at the undisputed heavyweight crown, setting up a potential blockbuster clash against the winner of the highly anticipated Oleksandr Usyk versus Tyson Fury rematch in December.

Many believe that Saturday’s highly-anticipated matchup will hinge on power, experience, and tactical prowess – with little to separate the two rivals.

Ahead of the fight, Usyk, Ben Shalom, Eddie Hearn, Tony Bellew and Ricky Hatton have all predicted a win for Joshua.

However, Frank Warren reckons AJ is getting knocked out.

Joshua, 34, is significantly older than 27-year-old Dubois but their careers are seemingly at a similar point.

Both men have had to rebuild their reputation after losses at the hands of Usyk.

Since being knocked out by Usyk in August 2023, Dubois has got the better of Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic, while Joshua has bounced back from his double defeat by Usyk by overcoming Jermaine Franklin Jr, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.
