Liam Gallagher has delivered a scathing response to a Saturday Night Live sketch that mocked him and his brother Noel ahead of Oasis’s upcoming reunion tour.

The skit, which aired on the American comedy show’s Weekend Update segment, featured cast members Sarah Sherman and James Austin Johnson portraying the Gallagher brothers.

When asked by a fan on social media about his thoughts on the parody, Gallagher bluntly replied: “Are they meant to be comedians?”

He later described the sketch as “excruciating” in response to another follower.

The segment, which attempted to poke fun at the siblings’ notorious feud, has been widely criticised online for its poor attempts at Mancunian accents and “cringe” humour.

The Gallagher brothers’ tumultuous relationship has been well-documented since Oasis’s formation in 1991.

Their frequent public spats and backstage altercations culminated in the band’s split in 2009, when Noel quit following a heated argument with Liam before a Paris gig.

Despite years of insisting a reunion would never happen, Oasis shocked fans by announcing a 2025 world tour in August.

The tour is set to kick off on July 4, 2025, at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, with multiple dates across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Tickets for the initial 17 shows sold out within 10 hours, prompting the addition of more dates. However, fans expressed outrage as Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing system saw prices soar from £135 to £355.

The SNL sketch has faced widespread criticism for its portrayal of the Gallaghers.

Viewers took to social media to express their disappointment, with many pointing out the actors’ poor attempts at Mancunian accents – one fan likened the impressions to “Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins”.

Others described the skit as “possibly the worst sketch in SNL’s history” and “absolutely abominable”.

Gallagher, known for his outspoken nature, didn’t hold back in his assessment and, in addition to his initial comments, he responded to another fan by saying: “I wouldn’t expect anything else from them.”

Earlier this week, Gallagher expressed concerns about media scrutiny potentially affecting the brothers’ newly reconciled relationship.

He posted on X: “We don’t want to do interviews coz we’re scared of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to pick holes in our relationship.”

When asked about a potential press conference for the tour, Liam simply stated, “They ain’t getting 1.” (sic)

Despite these concerns, the reunion tour has generated significant excitement, with reports suggesting the band could earn even more than the initially estimated £50 million each.

The tour is set to include performances in North America, Europe, and Australia, with additional dates in Sydney and Melbourne announced for November 2025.
