Lamar Jackson is missing Baltimore Ravens’ massive Saturday night showdown against Green Bay Packers with a back injury.
Jackson went off in last week’s narrow 28-24 loss to the New England Patriots with the issue, which comes at the worst possible time for the Ravens as they fight to keep their diminishing playoff hopes alive.
But six days on from that game and Jackson’s absence coincides with a bombshell report in the Baltimore Sun that the organization are running out of patience with their quarterback.
According to the report, Jackson has been dozing off in team meetings due to playing video games into the early hours of the morning.
It goes on to add that Jackson would ‘love’ to play for the Miami Dolphins, who are in the market for a new signal caller after Mike McDaniel benched Tua Tagovailoa after they failed to make the postseason.
Head coach John Harbaugh is also said to be at ‘breaking point’ with Jackson, who on his day is one of the most dangerous players in the NFL but has struggled with injuries throughout the 2025 campaign.
Lamar Jackson misses Baltimore Ravens vs Green Bay Packers due to a back problem
Jackson has often sat out at least one practice session a week this season to rest up, while a lingering hamstring issue has prevented him from being the dangerous running threat that he is so well known for.
If the Ravens beat the Packers later on Saturday with Tyler Huntley and overturn the odds to make the playoffs, there is absolutely no doubt that Harbaugh will bring Jackson back into the fold as long as he is healthy.
To make the postseason, the Ravens need to win out vs the Packers and then on January 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while also needing the Steelers to lose on Sunday against the lowly Cleveland Browns.
Unfortunately for Jackson’s team, the Steelers are finding form right as the season hots up and Aaron Rodgers’ men looked impressive in last week’s win over Detroit Lions.
But one ray of hope for the Ravens is that the Packers are without their No 1 quarterback on Saturday night. Jordan Love is absent with a concussion sustained in last week’s loss to rivals Chicago Bears.
