King Charles has unveiled a new plan to mark his birthday with a special event.
The King will celebrate his 76th birthday next Tuesday by opening two Coronation Food Hubs to mark the project’s first anniversary.
The monarch will open the initiative’s first two Coronation Food Hubs, one in person and one virtually.
The hubs will be major distribution centres, designed to save and circulate tonnes of surplus food and aim to transform the ability of charities like FareShare and the Felix Project to support communities most in need.

To mark His Majesty’s birthday and the opening of the two facilities, the hub the King visits will host a food festival with meals created from food which would otherwise have gone to waste.
King Charles will tour the new facility, meeting beneficiaries and representatives of food banks, schools and community groups.
The Coronation Food Project invests in a network of hubs that aim to increase the scale and capacity of warehouses, improve cold storage facilities, and fund deliveries to increase their distribution capacity.
During his visit, the King will view a newly installed industrial freezer that will increase capacity by 400%, significantly improving the charity’s ability to preserve more surplus food.

King Charles celebrated his 75th birthday by launching his Coronation Food Project, the same initiative he is spending this year supporting.
The King’s Birthday is 14 November, the day he was born in 1948, but his official birthday was marked on 15 June, when the King’s Birthday Parade, commonly known as Trooping the Colour, was held in London.

Three years after the end of World War II, food-rationing limits on certain foods were still in place to ensure there was enough to feed the whole population.
This will be the first birthday King Charles has celebrated since he announced he was diagnosed with a undisclosed form of cancer back in February earlier this year.
It is unclear whether Queen Camilla will attend after she cancelled her public appearances at Remembrance services this weekend due to a chest infection.
The Queen has been resting at home on doctors’ orders and announced on Tuesday that she could not attend engagements this week.
