King Charles is bracing himself for a “testing” few weeks with a lengthy trip on the horizon, according to royal commentator Jennie Bond.
She spoke to GB News about the monarch’s upcoming trip to Australia, which will be his biggest since he began treatment for cancer in February.
The monarch making himself visible to the public is a “good sign”, Bond told GB News, but warned he is set for a potentially trying period.
“Charles is 75, he is not a young man by any means”, she told Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond.

“He has been on the world scene for decades. His shoulders are broad and his mind is attuned to everything going on around the world.
“He is making a great job of it. I just hope he can continue to do so and get through this treatment.

“He is set to travel to Australia with Camilla, that will be quite testing I should think.
“But he is back on the world scene. That is good news.”
The King is still receiving cancer treatment and measures have been taken in order to put his health first.
An accompanying trip to New Zealand had been considered, but didn’t go ahead after medical advice.

He is set for a long flight and a programme of engagements in Sydney and Canberra.
The monarch will be officially welcomed by Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and will also be welcomed by fresh scrutiny.

The King will be seeking to highlight issues like protecting the environment and the impact of climate change.
He has spent much of the summer in Scotland and marked the second anniversary of the start of his term earlier this month.
