Kerry Katona shared an update on her mother’s health on Sunday after a dash to the hospital.

The former Atomic Kitten, 44, took to Instagram to ask fans to pray for her mother after a scary 24 hours. 

The TV personality’s mother, Sue, was taken to hospital after falling ill, with Kerry explaining that she hadn’t been ‘in a good way’.

Taking to her social media, the star explained that she hadn’t been to bed in more than 24 hours and was exhausted but wanted to be close to the hospital.

She apologised for ignoring work calls and added it had been a ‘rough’ time while doctors took care of her mother.

Taking to her social media, the star explained that she hadn’t been to bed in more than 24 hours and was exhausted but wanted to be close to the hospital.

In a video she said: ‘Hi everybody, please excuse the state of me, I haven’t been to bed since 3am not this morning, the day before.

‘I’ve taken my mum into hospital, we’ve had no sleep.

‘For those of you who are aware, thankyou all so very much for the messages.

‘The hospital found clots on my mum’s lungs, she’s not in a good way. It’s been a rough over 24 hours.

‘I’m absolutely and just want to say for anybody who keeps texting me about work, and things like that I do apologise, I’m just having to put all that on the back foot at the moment. 

‘I need to get some sleep so I can get back to the hospital, so I can be there for my mum. 

Kerry also explained she had gone back to her mother’s home because it was nearer the hospital and was getting ready to go to bed.

In the clip, the star was dressed in red pyjamas and wasn’t sporting any make-up as she gave her 800,000 followers an update.

She went on to say: ‘Big love to you mum, you really scared me. I could throttle you but I got her to the hospital and that’s the main thing. 

‘I ask you all to say a little prayer to keep her strong and to keep her fighting.’   

In another video shared to her Instagram Story on Sunday, Kerry revealed that her mother was still not very well before revealing that she is suffering from a clot attached to her heart.

In the short clip she said: ‘There’s so many underlying problems with my mum.’ before asking Sue to behave herself in the hospital and do what she’s told. 

Keeping her fans in the loop, the star later shared a video of herself sat in a chair in the hospital alongside her mother who was lying in bed in a hospital gown.

Sue waved at the camera as Kerry panned it over the room before saying hello.

She then showed off her bruised arms, joking ‘it’s a bit of a mess’ as Kerry worried over her. 

The star then told her followers: ‘She’s on the right path. She’s in the right place.’

Kerry spoke to New Magazine about the trauma of living with her mum, who was manic-depressive, having spoken exhaustively in the past about her chequered upbringing and struggles.

She said: ‘My earliest memory is watching my mum slit her wrists. I was three. She was manic-depressive and self-harmed until I was 15. That’s just the way my life is. I’ve come so far from being a foster kid growing up in a council house.’

Having now looked back on her mother’s self-harming and troubles, Kerry confessed she does not have any regrets and is happy with her life now.
