Kemi Badenoch has claimed that she would drill for new oil and gas if she was elected Conservative Party leader.
Speaking to GB News, Badenoch stated: “Yes to drilling for new oil and gas. We cannot be reliant on dangerous countries for all of our oil and gas.
“And a lot of what’s happening is that we’re closing down our plants, making electricity and energy more expensive here and enriching other countries.
“So oil and gas is a part of the transition if you want to get to net zero.”
