Katie Price’s new husband Lee Andrews has responded to suggestions that the pair’s wedding isn’t legally binding.
Earlier this week, Katie announced that she and the entrepreneur had tied the knot in Dubai just days after meeting in real life for the first time.
However, shortly after the news of the nuptials was made public, celebrant Darryl Rees told the Daily Mail that he specialises in “symbolic weddings”, and that couples who see him still need to “get married in the courts with all the paperwork”.
While he claimed that Katie and Lee had “mentioned that they were going to get the wedding legalised” the day after their ceremony with him, this still led to speculation about whether or not the couple were officially married.
Per the Manchester Evening News, Lee shared a statement on social media to address some of the “confusion” he’d seen online.
“Rings are all on the right fingers, and tattoos are all on the right hand,” he claimed, before insisting: “We’ve had the most wonderful wedding. We are married. It’s official, and I’m the happiest man in the world. Lots of love to everyone.
“That might clear up a lot of the 99 percent of the junk that’s in my requests.”
Meanwhile, the latest episode of Katie’s podcast The Katie Price Show, which she co-hosts with her sister Sophie, did not go out as normal on Thursday.
Sophie explained: “I know you’ve all been [champing at the bit] to find out what has been going on. All our DMs have been going off and let’s just say it’s been one hell of a week.”
“We’ll be back next week, as normal, and we will be able to update you guys on what’s been going on, and it’ll be business as usual,” she continued. “But for this week, we are… oh god, what are we not doing this week?”
HuffPost UK contacted Katie Price’s team for comment earlier this week but did not receive a response.
Katie has now been married four times, first to pop singer Peter Andre, who she met while they were in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, and with whom she shares two grown-up children, Junior and Princess.
Following her split from the Mysterious Girl singer she was married to former cage fighter Alex Reid for one year and builder and former ******** Kieran Hayler for eight years.
Kieran is the father of Katie’s youngest son and daughter, Jett and Bunny.
The former glamour model was previously engaged to the reality stars Kris Boyson, Carl Woods and JJ Slater, with whom she was reported to have split just a few weeks ago.
Katie also has a grown-up son, Harvey, from a past relationship with the retired footballer Dwight Yorke.
