Princess Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton have been pictured attending the fourth day of Wimbledon.

The Middletons are on the guest list for the Royal Box today but no member of the Royal Family will be there to join them.

Carole and Michael’s appearance comes as Princess Kate’s usual public appearance at Wimbledon hangs in the balance this summer.

The Princess of Wales usually presents the trophy to the winners of the men’s singles and women’s singles events every summer.

In March 2024, Kate announced that she had undergone preventative chemotherapy after cancer was found in tests following her abdominal surgery earlier this year.

The princess made her first public appearance in 2024 on June 15th when she attended Trooping the Colour alongside her children.

Kate has not made another public appearance since the King’s Birthday Parade but is expected to undertake two or three engagements this summer.

All England Club chair Debbie Jevans told the Telegraph that the Princess of Wales will be given “as much flexibility as possible” regarding her possible attendance.

The Princess of Wales has been patron of the All England Club since 2016 and has watched many matches from the Royal Box at Wimbledon.

Last year, Kate admitted that the decision to not bring Prince Louis to Wimbledon left the young royal “very upset”.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were joined at Wimbledon by Prince George and Princess Charlotte for the compelling men’s singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.

The Princess of Wales said regarding her children attending Wimbledon: “It’s Charlotte’s first time, George came last year. They’ve been eagerly watching.”

Last year, Princess Kate appeared to be on the brink of tears just moments before awarding the Wimbledon trophy to Markéta Vondrousova.

Czech Republic’s Vondrousova defeated Ons Jabeur in straight sets to win her first Wimbledon title.

Jabeur, the favourite ahead of the contest, was left devastated by the loss and burst into tears following the conclusion of the final.

Princess Kate watching in the crowd, looked to be visibly moved by the outpouring of emotion from Jabeur.
