The Prince and Princess of Wales marked the end of 2024 with a heartwarming collection of family photos and memories, despite facing significant health challenges throughout the year.
The royal couple shared an 18-slide post on social media, offering glimpses of their most cherished moments from what has been an extraordinarily difficult period for the family.
Both the Princess of Wales and King Charles underwent cancer treatment during 2024, with Kate taking a step back from most public duties to focus on her recovery.
The couple kept their message simple yet optimistic, using a tick emoji for 2024 and writing: “Happy New Year! Wishing you all a wonderful 2025.”

The collection showcases both personal family moments and the limited number of engagements Kate was able to attend while undergoing treatment.
Among the highlights shared was a notable selfie featuring Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte with Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium during her Eras Tour.
Kate’s Together at Christmas carol service, broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve, featured prominently in the collection as one of her most significant events of the year.
The photos also captured the family’s appearance at Trooping the Colour ceremony in June, where Kate joined other royal family members.
A particularly moving inclusion was a family still from the candid video clip in which Kate announced she had completed chemotherapy.
The Prince and Princess also shared images from their visit to Southport, where they met with bereaved families and emergency services workers following a tragic incident.
The collection included poignant moments from Kate’s meetings with fellow cancer patients, including 16-year-old Liz Hatton at Windsor Castle in October, who tragically passed away in November.
A touching photograph captured Prince William’s January meeting with rugby legends Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield at Headingley Stadium in Leeds.

The image showed William beaming alongside Sinfield, who has raised thousands for MND research, while Burrow sat with his wife Lindsey and daughters Macy and Maya.
Both Burrow and Sinfield were photographed with their CBE medals, which they received in the New Year Honours List 2024.
The Prince and Princess also shared images from their autumn visit to Southport, where they met families affected by a tragic incident at a Taylor Swift dance party.
The Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis in March through a moving video message, explaining that cancerous cells were discovered during an abdominal operation in January.

During this challenging period, Prince William reduced his public engagements to help care for Kate and their children.
The diagnosis coincided with King Charles’s own cancer battle, which was discovered during treatment for an enlarged prostate at a private London hospital.
Kate has now completed her chemotherapy treatment, allowing the family to look forward to 2025 without the shadow of cancer.
Despite the difficulties, William maintained some crucial royal duties, including travelling to South Africa later in the year for his annual Earthshot Prize Awards after Kate had finished her treatment.
The couple’s New Year message reflects their characteristic optimism as they move forward from what Prince William described as a “brutal” year.
