- Both Arsenal and Liverpool can’t afford an FA Cup replay. They must go all out for victory – Listen to It’s All Kicking Off
Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Dominik Szoboszlai will miss at least the next two games for Liverpool with a hamstring injury.
The 23-year-old came off holding the back of his leg in the Reds’ 4-2 win against Newcastle on New Year’s Day, sparking fears that he could face a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
Klopp’s side face Arsenal in the FA Cup third round at the Emirates on Sunday before contesting the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham at Anfield next midweek.
‘I can confirm it’s not a potential injury – it is an injury.’ The Liverpool boss said ahead of the tie against the Gunners. ‘Muscle, hamstring. But now we have to see,” said Klopp at his pre-Arsenal press conference.
‘Dom is very positive, doesn’t have a lot of pain but we have to wait a little bit. So, no chance obviously for Sunday, not for Wednesday. No. And then we will see, after that hopefully he might be back but we don’t know.’
