Jude Bellingham is reportedly set to spend a month on the sidelines after suffering a leg injury.

Real Madrid confirmed the 21-year-old is suffering with plantar fasciitis in his right leg and will be out until late September.

‘After the tests conducted today on our player Jude Bellingham by the Medical Services of Real Madrid, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg. Awaiting further developments.’ A statement on the club’s website read.

The news will come to a blow for interim England boss Lee Carsley as he prepares for his first games in charge of the senior team in September.

England have a pair of Nations League matches next month, first facing the Republic of Ireland in Dublin before playing host to Finland at Wembley three days later.

After starting in all of England’s matches on their run to the Euro 2024 final this summer, Bellingham returned to Madrid for the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta earlier this month.

As Kylian Mbappe made his competitive debut for Los Blancos following his long-awaited move from PSG, Bellingham set the Frenchman up for a debut goal at the Warsaw National Stadium as they started the season with silverware.

However, in the modern-day Galaticos’ first league game, Carlo Ancelotti’s side were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Mallorca after Vedat Muriqi cancelled out Rodrygo’s opener.

Following the game Carlo Ancelotti revealed Bellingham had suffered an injury in training that ruled him out for this Sunday’s clash with Real Valladolid.

However, reports claim that the injury could see him unavailable until late September.

In his absence, Ancelotti may turn to Arda Guler to take Bellingham’s place in the starting lineup.

The 19-year-old wowed fans with his performances for Turkey at the European Championships but was restricted to brief cameos off the bench in both the Super Cup final and their LaLiga opener on Sunday.
