Comedian Josh Widdicombe has made his feelings clear on a beloved festive tradition ahead of his appearance on Strictly’s Christmas special.
The 41-year-old will compete alongside Vogue Williams, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Tamzin Outhwaite, Billy Monger and drag queen Tayce.
The comedian will be paired with pro dancer Karen Hauer in his bid to be named the Strictly Christmas champion.
When asked why he decided to take on the festive special, Widdicombe revealed his daughter was the main inspiration but also joked about his: “Dreams of being Billy Elliot.”
Regarding his ability to mimic the fictional ballet prodigy, Widdicombe was tight lipped about his own dancing ability.
“That would be telling,” he responded cheekily when asked by the BBC.

Perhaps hinting at his ambitions, the 41-year-old revealed his Christmas wish was to recieve a: “10 from Craig Revel-Horwood.”
Despite his excitement, Widdicombe is less enthused about a beloved Christmas tradition.
Opening presents in pyjamas and wearing a Christmas jumper are some of the most recognised festive habits.
When asked if he has his own “Christmas outfit” in mind, the comedian gave a definitive “no”.

“I get dressed in normal clothes,” he snipes, adding: “Christmas pyjamas are embarrassing for all.”
While he is dead set against a festive wardrobe, Widdicombe conceded he does have his own Christmas “rituals”.
“I am insistent about sequence and turn taking with present giving,” the comedian revealed.
Admitting this did little to improve his Scrooge-like image, he added: “I manage to lose all fun.”
Relating dancing to his profession, the comedian joked that he would not be bringing any levity to his festive performances.
“No, this is incredibly serious, Strictly is not about fun it’s about lines and shoulders,” he humoured the BBC.
Fellow comedian Chris McCausland emerged the champion of this year’s main Strictly after his astonishing journey with pro dancer Dianne Buswell.
When asked if McCausland had shared any advice to another funnyman, Widdicombe said he had not heard anything.
“McCausland was too busy being the nations’ sweetheart to return my calls,” he joked.
Chris Ramsey, another comedian who took on Strictly in 2019, shared some pertinent dietary advice with Widdicombe.
“He told me the best thing is you can eat what you like and still get fitter!”
