Hull FC have signed Leigh Leopards captain John Asiata on a deal to begin during the 2025 Super League season.

The 31-year-old loose forward joins on a three-year contract having made over 60 appearances for the Leopards since 2022.

During his time with Leigh, Asiata helped them win promotion back to the top flight through the Million Pound Game before winning the Challenge Cup last season on their return to Super League.

“After speaking to [director of rugby] Richie Myler, it’s clear that we are both on the same page in wanting to help this club to being better than ever before,” Asiata told Hull FC’s website., external

“Thank you to [chairman] Adam [Pearson], Richie and the Hull FC family for having faith in me. I really look forward to getting stuck in with the boys once the time comes.

Asiata arrived at Leigh having made over 130 appearances in the NRL during spells with North Queensland Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos.

He won the 2016 World Club Challenge as well as reaching an NRL Grand Final the following year.

“John is a highly respected individual, who is a true leader on and off the field,” Myler added.

“A signing of this quality clearly shows the direction in which the club is heading.”
